is by first removing bark from a tree. Then, the log is reduced to chips about 1.5-2in. squares and 0.25in is thickness. The chips then have the fibers separated by chemicals. When the fibers are full separated it looks like oatmeal. It’s then put into a drum to have the chemicals drawn out and have a white dye put into the fibers. The fibers then go down a belt and are wound together by a machine. The water from the dying is removed. The paper is then ironed out by a hot roller and then goes into a dry oven. This hardens the paper. Then, the paper is wound onto spools to be cut.

Dear darkcow,
Really cool post as I’ve always wanted to learn how to make paper! Just kidding! Well anyway I think that it is pretty amazing of the process that they make paper in. All that work goes into making just one piece of paper. This post kind of reminded me about our social studies teacher last year when he told us that he watched on TV the history of glue. ~tsoccer20
