The Means of Survival

I wrote this with 499 words excluding this first part and including the dictionary definition. I hope you enjoy what I wrote.

Why use technology? Well, that is a real easy question for me. I spend most of my time in a La-z-boy chair playing videogames.videogames If I’m not playing, I’m working on the computer. Technology is my life. I use it whenever I turn that Xbox or Wii on and I use it to do my homework (no it’s not cheating). I guess we use to technology for whole boat load of reasons. We use it for entertainment, work (like my mom), or aid. Some technologies, such as the internet, are used to spread information. My class uses the internet to share our thoughts in the form of a blog. We share who we are and where we’re from to the whole world (well, maybe not the “where we’re from” part). Everyone has the ability to listen to you when you use technology. What drives me to do this kind of thing is the pure joy of knowing that somebody, other than my family, is listening to what is going on in my life. I guess that could also be creepy, but it is still very cool that they know about you. Also, technology supplies a faster mode of communication. It could be faster than calling someone on the phone and it is way faster than mail. Technology is being used more and more often. It is important to learn about this in school than having to learn it later on.

spearsYou asked why this technology is important to use and it is. Mankind survived for 200,000 years so far. All this time we have had technology. Whether it is a bone to use as a knife or a spear to hunt a larger animal, we used technology. You look up humans on Google and you get Wikipedia saying that human is short for Homo-sapiens and that is Latin for “thinking man”. Now, you look up technology on dictionary.com and you read:

So, technology is important. It was a way for our ancient ancestors to stay one step ahead of the predators. So, I guess you could say that we owe our lives to technology. It has kept us alive for so long. Now that we have no highly important need for it these days, we use it for entertainment and fun.
