We have many elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 2 high schools, and many shops. You can drive across the town in like 15 minutes and there is still a lot of stuff to do. We have a bowling alley, a movie theater, a go-kart track and a whole boat load of more stuff.

Our school is unique because we do a lot of technology in our class. Our school isn’t really special than anyother school however.

I wrote this with 499 words excluding this first part and including the dictionary definition. I hope you enjoy what I wrote.

Why use technology? Well, that is a real easy question for me. I spend most of my time in a La-z-boy chair playing videogames. If I’m not playing, I’m working on the computer. Technology is my life. I use it whenever I turn that Xbox or Wii on and I use it to do my homework (no it’s not cheating). I guess we use to technology for whole boat load of reasons. We use it for entertainment, work (like my mom), or aid. Some technologies, such as the internet, are used to spread information. My class uses the internet to share our thoughts in the form of a blog. We share who we are and where we’re from to the whole world (well, maybe not the “where we’re from” part). Everyone has the ability to listen to you when you use technology. What drives me to do this kind of thing is the pure joy of knowing that somebody, other than my family, is listening to what is going on in my life. I guess that could also be creepy, but it is still very cool that they know about you. Also, technology supplies a faster mode of communication. It could be faster than calling someone on the phone and it is way faster than mail. Technology is being used more and more often. It is important to learn about this in school than having to learn it later on.

You asked why this technology is important to use and it is. Mankind survived for 200,000 years so far. All this time we have had technology. Whether it is a bone to use as a knife or a spear to hunt a larger animal, we used technology. You look up humans on Google and you get Wikipedia saying that human is short for Homo-sapiens and that is Latin for “thinking man”. Now, you look up technology on dictionary.com and you read:

High school, the next step in my education. I know that moving on is always good, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t get nervous about it. One of my main fears is that none of my friends will be at the school I applied to, Choate Rosemary Hall. My best friend isn’t going to be there anyway because he is in 7th grade, so he will be in 8th grade when i’m a freshman. However, My other friends that I know won’t be there probably. The Choate thing also poses a problem. If I don’t get in then I must go to the public school. I don’t not like that school; it is just that I really want to go to that school. It would be a great stepping stone for the future and plus my mom works there. Even if I get accepted , I’ll still need to recieve a scholarship. I really want to go there.

Most students think,”Oh, it’s just another day off.” or,”Another day for the end of the year.” But is Martin Luther King day any of these thoughts or are the student right? Should stay in school to honor him and learn about him or stay out of school?

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Martin Luther King is mostly known for the speech and quote above, but he is much, much more. He was a main leader for the civil rights movement. He was saddly assassinated on April 4th, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. For his massive role in American history Martin Luther King got his own holiday known as Martin Luther King Day. He recieved the Presidential Medal of Freedom award given by President Jimmy Carter. Martin also got the Congressional Gold Medal in 2004 for his help in setting our country right.

Now back to the big question. Should there be school on Martin Luther King Day? I think that there shouldn’t be school because it is a national holiday. And like all holidays, we should be awqay from school and be doing our own thing to celebrate him.

What do think about Martin Luther King Day? Leave a comment telling what your thoughts are.

I recently watched a video. the video was about a boy and a girl who knew each other since they were young. The grew up all piecefull and happy but then one of them died. I think that this video is about how everything can change within seconds. You could be happy then the next day be sad. the last thing is that everything ends. When one of the people dies, the other is very sad, but he moves on. That is another point. When something happens it is best to move on.

Together, they created a formula to calculate gravity. He also created several diving bells which allowed humans to explore deep under the water. I think his greatest achievement was probably the formula he created for gravity.

what do you think his greatest achievement was?
